「Flower Power」
"Flower Power" was a well-known anti-war slogan in the U.S. during the 1960s and 70s. It symbolized peace, non-violence, and protest, famously represented by the act of placing flowers into the barrels of soldiers' rifles. This work draws on the concept of "the power of flowers," using flowers as political symbols of peace. Starting from the emotional resonance of the February 28 Incident (228), the piece employs cyanotype printing as a metaphor for the sorrow brought upon the Taiwanese people by the Kuomintang's authoritarian regime. Through a dialogue of positive and negative images, the work mourns the traumatic legacy of authoritarian violence and reflects on how individuals encounter and confront such violence.
